Momentum

Listening Notes

Momentum’s concept was first inspired by Sam Smith’s “Too Good at Goodbyes”, but each of Momentum’s chapters have been musically and lyrically inspired.

Some of Momentum’s most influential songs include those which inspired its first and last chapters.

“I’m Born to Run” by American Authors is what inspired Thea’s perspective. Originally, the novel was to be told entirely from Adam’s point of view.

“One Foot” by Walk the Moon was the first song to inspire a vivid and specific scene within the author’s mind, leading to a novel where each and every chapter exists by way of lyrical inspiration.

This novel does not have a novel—or mood—inspired playlist. Instead, each song is instrumental—and fundamental—in the very existence of this story. Think of “The Coffee Song” by Frank Sinatra and you’ll instantly be transported to Station 400. Click here to see Momentum’s full playlist.
